How to Insert Your Artwork

The frame ships fully assembled. To insert your artwork: remove the front acrylic panel, place your piece between the two acrylic panels, then reattach the front panel. The artwork sits sandwiched between the two layers.

Custom Options

• Thick artwork: If your piece is too thick to fit between two acrylic panels, we can configure the frame with a single acrylic panel instead — the thickness will equal the combined total of the original two panels. Mention this in Order Notes.
• Custom holes: If you need specific holes drilled to mount or fix your artwork, email us at hello@gethushlume.com with the hole diameter and exact position before ordering.
• Mid-air suspension: Want to hang the frame suspended in mid-air from the ceiling or a wall rail — like a gallery installation? Mention it in Order Notes and we'll include a free steel wire and hook set of the appropriate length. Note: the ceiling or wall anchor point (hook, rail, or track) needs to be prepared by the customer. The frame hangs freely on the wire, so some gentle movement is natural.

FAQ

How stable is the wire suspension?
The stainless steel wire runs from the aluminum top bar to the acrylic panel assembly under adjustable tension. Once set, it holds the panels in a fixed suspended position. It won't swing or shift under normal desk conditions.

Can I adjust how high the artwork floats?
Yes — the wire tension is adjustable, which controls the gap between the artwork and the desk surface. More tension pulls the panels higher; less tension lets them sit closer to the surface.

What if my artwork is too thick for two acrylic panels?
We can configure the frame with a single acrylic panel — the thickness will equal the combined total of the original two panels, giving more clearance for thicker pieces. Mention this in Order Notes.

Can I get custom holes drilled for my artwork?

Can I hang this suspended in mid-air?

You'll need to install a secure anchor point at the top (ceiling hook, wall hook, rail, or track) — that part is up to you. Because the frame hangs freely on the wire, some gentle movement is natural when touched.

What's the difference between this and the wall-mount aluminum poster frame?
The Aluminum Poster Frame uses a full perimeter frame for both wall and desk display. This Suspension Frame uses a top bar with steel wire — designed specifically for desk and shelf display with a floating visual effect. No wall mounting required.

Designer Notes

What inspired this piece?
Some walls aren't worth drilling into. I wanted a way to display something you care about without touching the wall at all — just a wire, a bar, and the poster hanging in mid-air.

Why this material?
Stainless steel wire is the only material thin enough to be invisible from a distance but strong enough to hold the panels in tension. The aluminum top bar keeps everything level without adding visual weight.

One thing I obsessed over.
The gap between the artwork and the desk surface. Too small and the floating effect disappears. The wire tension controls exactly how much air is underneath.
