The right monitor riser width matches your monitor, not your desk. For a single monitor, match the display width. For dual monitors side by side, add both widths plus the gap between them — or use two separate risers.
Sizing for a Single Monitor
Width: match your monitor's width, or go 5–10cm wider for a framed look. Going significantly wider than the monitor looks unbalanced.
Height: measure from your desk surface to your natural eye level while seated, then subtract your monitor's height. That's your riser height. Custom heights from 6–15cm are available.
| Monitor Size | Typical Monitor Width | Recommended Riser Width |
|---|---|---|
| 24" | ~53cm | 55–60cm |
| 27" | ~61cm | 60–65cm |
| 32" | ~71cm | 70–80cm |
| 34" ultrawide | ~82cm | 85–90cm |

Sizing for Dual Monitors
Two monitors side by side create a combined width that most standard risers can't cover. Options:
Option 1: One wide custom riser
Add both monitor widths plus the gap between them (typically 2–4cm). For two 27" monitors: 61 + 61 + 3 = ~125cm. A single 120–130cm riser supports both and looks cohesive.
Option 2: Two separate risers
Better if you want independent height adjustment for each monitor, or if the monitors are at different angles. Two matching risers in the same material and color look intentional side by side.
For independently angled dual monitors, a monitor arm is worth considering instead. See: Monitor Shelf vs Monitor Arm
Depth
Most monitor stands have a base depth of 20–30cm. A riser depth of 25–30cm gives stable support without extending too far forward on the desk. HushLume standard depth is 25cm — custom depths available on request.
FAQ
Can one riser support two monitors?
Yes, if it's wide enough and the combined weight is within range. Two 27" monitors typically weigh 8–12kg combined — within the load range of HushLume's chrome steel shaft construction.
Should both monitors be at the same height?
For most setups, yes. Matching height reduces neck strain from looking up and down between screens. If one monitor is used primarily for reference and the other for active work, a slight height difference is acceptable.
What if my monitors are different sizes?
A single riser still works — the smaller monitor will have more clearance on its side. Alternatively, two separate risers let you set independent heights.
How do I order a custom width?
